**Aggie Hoops**

As Farm Bureau Insurance customers, we received two free tickets to an Aggie Men's basketball game in December. We chose the game against Prairie View and had a great time!

Thanksgiving 2010

What a lovely day we had! My first year to cook for the whole family was a success. We enjoyed Italian food (yes, I know it's weird - but we all hate traditional Thanksgiving food) and lots of laughs! We are beyond blessed to have such a wonderful family!

Enjoying our 2nd Thanksgiving as a married couple!

Sarah the Cook - did not think I would ever see this day! :)

Family

This Thanksgiving (and all year), I am incredibly thankful for family. No one loves you, supports you, angers you, pushes you, and stands by you like family does. Families have all different faces, colors, shapes, and sizes. Not only am I thankful for the family I grew up with, but for those who have been added to the fold over the years: my husband, my closest friends who are the sisters I never had, and my wonderful in-laws. Life is not perfect and neither am I, so I am especially grateful for the support, love, and forgiveness my entire family practices. Though our family gatherings always remind us of those we miss, it makes the time I have with those who are here even more special. So this Thanksgiving, worry less about if the table settings are perfect and more about spending quality time with those you love and call your "family."
Here are some photos of those I hold dear. Happy Thanksgiving!

I am a really bad blogger ...

So ... I have been terrible about posting during our first year of marriage. We always seemed to be busy with something! I am really going to try to do better during our second year. Here are some catchup photos:
Dave graduated from A&M! So proud of him!

Jessica graduated from Texas! Congrats!

My wonderful students on my 23rd birthday!

Our first Christmas as a married couple!

Got our taxes done! A BIG accomplishment! Thanks Daddy Webb!
Enjoying a wedding with my teacher friends! So glad we survived this year!

And finally, our one year anniversary celebration! We decided to cruise to Mexico for a week to get some much needed relaxation!

About to enjoy our cake!

Yummy!
We demolished the cake! It was better than a year ago! :)
Loving our cruise!

Formal night.
Here's to the many more years of marriage ahead of us!

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Muffins!

I love fall so I was thrilled to find this pumpkin chocolate chip muffin recipe (plus, because of the chocolate, I knew Dave would eat it haha). Let me tell you, they are DELICIOUS! Easy to make and cheap ingredients - my favorite. Make them soon!!!

Enjoy!

On a side, I had to just tell Dave they were just chocolate chip at first, but once he tasted them and loved them, I told him the truth! :)

I love good deals!

I have been trying to get the house together since we got back from the honeymoon, but it's been a little slow-moving. Inspired by another blogger, I decided to concentrate on one room at a time until it was done instead of bouncing around from project to project. Last week, I finally completed and put together our bedding. The throw pillows took forever to find, as I refused to pay $30 a pillow. I finally found the pillows on sale at a Kirkland's in Austin (and some other great stuff, but we won't go there now). I got the duvet cover and shams (they reverse to a wide brown and white stripe) on Ebay (LOVE Ebay!) for a very reasonable price (even Dave didn't think it was ridiculous). We were given the two sheet sets (red and brown) and the comforter for the wedding, so we ended up not spending very much on the whole set. We love it! In fact, Dave said we can't sleep in it because it looks like a hotel bed. :)

Now I just need to hang the frame that goes over the bed (also a Kirkland's find)!
